Salvation Army seeks holiday bell ringers

The Salvation Army in Jackson County is looking for volunteers to ring bells to help raise money for people in the community who need it most.

All money donated locally to the annual Red Kettle Campaign stays in Jackson County and is distributed through Human Services Inc. to provide for emergency assistance, including food, lodging or rent, transportation, medical needs, utilities, clothing and disaster relief.

The Salvation Army also helps with distributing school supplies and providing gifts to local nursing home patients.

Ringers will be stationed outside Walmart, CVS and Walgreens in Seymour, from today and through Dec. 24.

Anyone interested in ringing the bells for one- or two-hour shifts may call coordinator Bernie Bryant at 812-445-3727.
