Cookies, carols and a cedar tree are planned for the annual Christmas in the Village observance from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Jackson County History Center meeting house.

The public is invited to follow the luminaries along the meeting house path where a fire will be burning in the fireplace.

Donation of handmade tree ornaments that do not include artificial materials such as plastic is invited. Ornaments from previous years also will be featured on the freshly cut cedar tree.

The center’s Ketcham Pioneer Village is on Walnut Street east of the stoplight at the courthouse where a Santa Claus visit is planned the same evening, sponsored by Brownstown/Ewing Main Street organization.

The village is named for a Hoosier pioneer who spent several years in Jackson County.
