James Richard Vornholt, 59, of Seymour, passed away Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, at his home.

Born Jan. 4, 1955, in Indianapolis, he was son of Donald E. and Anna G. (Giovanoni) Vornholt.

James graduated from Delaware State College with a degree in electronics. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Indianapolis. He worked with his father for several years as a heavy equipment vehicle escort service. He later worked as a carpenter/tradesman. He loved family genealogy, was well-traveled and a music buff. He was very proud to be a 27-year member of AA.

Survivors include his sister, Peggy Stevens; three brothers, Tom (Suzanne) Vornholt, Dan (Cindie) Vornholt and Jerry (Ginny) Vornholt; 10 nieces and nephews; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Anna Vornholt; and a nephew, Brian Stevens.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 3932 MiCasa, Indianapolis, with the Rev. David Shadday officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.
