The Indiana Department of Transportation has issued a permit to the town of Medora to close a section of State Road 235 on Saturday for the community’s annual Christmas parade.

The three-hour closure begins at 11 a.m. Motorists can circumvent the parade site via West County Road 275S, Jackson Street and Perry Street.

Parade participants will journey along State Road 235 from West County Road 275S to Perry Street.

The Medora Christmas Festival features a tree-lighting ceremony and crowning of the 2014 prince and princess. There will be stage performances and an appearance by Santa Claus, along with a variety of craft vendors, food stands and other attractions.
