Helen S. Ault, 91, of Seymour, passed away Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at Lutheran Community Home.

Born Dec. 26, 1922, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Loyd and Ida Faye (Bennett) Spurgeon.

On Oct. 3, 1944, in Washington, D.C., she married Gerald “Keith” Ault. He preceded her in death Aug. 9, 2001.

Helen graduated from Freetown High School in 1940 and was a 1942 graduate of Indiana Business School in Columbus. After graduating from school, she was assigned to secretarial work in the War Production Board, Chemical Division, in Washington, D.C. After returning to Freetown, she went to work at Cosco, where she worked as a secretary until her retirement in November of 1984. She was a member of Freetown United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her children, Terry (Carla) Ault and Karen Ault; and grandsons, Bryan Ault, Aaron Ault and Ethan Ault.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Kendra Ault; brothers, Charles “Don” Spurgeon and Larry Spurgeon; and sister, Grace “Laverne” Gredy.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. David Ison officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at Freetown Cemetery.
