Brownstown Central falls to Bedford North Lawrence

BEDFORD

The Brownstown Central boys basketball team was outscored 16-9 in overtime as they lost to Bedford North Lawrence 59-52 on Tuesday.

At halftime, the Stars led the Braves 22-17.

However, the Braves outscored the Stars 30 to 21 in the second half of play to force overtime.

In overtime, the Stars shot 12 free throws to push past the Braves.

Jacoby Shade led the Braves with 19 points.

On Friday, the Braves (2-1) will travel to Salem.

Trinity Lutheran comes out on top against Austin

AUSTIN

The Trinity Lutheran boys basketball team continued their hot start to the season with a 54-51 win against Austin on Tuesday.

Heading into the fourth quarter, the Cougars led 38-37.

In the fourth quarter, the Cougars were able to maintain their small led by outscoring the Eagles 16-14 before the final buzzer.

As a team, the Cougars finished with 23 rebounds.

The Cougars’ Daniel Horton led his team with 26 points and 14 rebounds.

On Saturday, the Cougars (4-0) will host West Washington.
