Donations to this year’s Christmas Basket Fund grew to $2,496 with six new gifts totaling $390.

The fund, sponsored by American Legion Post 89 in partnership with The Tribune, Jay C Food Stores and JCB, will supply $50 Jay C gift cards to residents in need throughout the county.

New donations include: Merry Christmas $100, from Seymour Red Hatters Chapter 20403; In lieu of Christmas cards, Merry Christmas to all our friends, $50, from Bill and Joy Kamman; In memory of Leona, David and Jerry Rumph $50, from Ervin Rumph; In memory of our parents and brothers, Bene and Ramona Gonzales, Lincoln and Minnie Disney, Armando Gonzales and Ralph Disney $100, from Dan and Helen Gonzales; In memory of Leora J. Barlow $50, from Lawrence Barlow; In memory of Louis H. and Doris Niemeyer, Louie J. and Helen Niemeyer, John Niemeyer and Kay Niemeyer $40, from Tom Niemeyer.

Donations can be left at The Tribune’s front desk, any JCB branch or American Legion Post 89. Donors can contribute anonymously and can dedicate donations to others.
