Clyde E. Zike, 79, of Crothersville, passed away Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, at his home.

Born March 20, 1935, in Jackson County, he was the son of Clyde and Dortha Wheeler Zike.

He was a U.S. Army veteran who spent his entire life working as a welder.

He belonged to several beagle hunting clubs. In his younger days, he enjoyed fishing and hiking. He liked watching IU basketball games. He was a member of American Legion Post 89 in Seymour.

Survivors include a companion of 20 years, Patricia A. Hughes; children, Tim Roberts, Clyde Dwayne (Becky) Zike, Monty Zike, Natalie Zike, Brandy Zike Hayes, Tracey Zike and Donna Zike; stepchildren, Scott (Liz) Hughes, Glen (Brenda) Hughes, Bonnie (Lee) Cross and Buffy (Brett) Swider; a brother, Harold Joe Zike; two sisters, Dorothy Baute and Frieda Graham; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; six stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Bruce Zike and Clyde Leon Zike; and sisters, Marie Beaver and Lucille Graham.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home in Brownstown.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial with military rites will follow at Freetown Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
