Ladies Aid enjoys games, dinner, poetry at Christmas dinner

St. Peter’s Ladies Aid annual Christmas Party was conducted at noon Dec. 4 at the Browsntown Church.

Pastor Jeff Patterson gave a message and offered prayers. There were 17 members and guests present.

Dinner was served and games were played. A short meeting was held.

January hostess will be Frances Nichols will be the hostess for the January meeting, and Kathy Cunningham will visit the sick and shut-ins and nursing homes.

The meeting closed with “The Lord’s Prayer” and the singing of Christmas carols.

St. Peter’s Ladies Aid of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Brownstown conducted a Harvest Thank You party Nov. 6.

The party, attended by 41 members and a guest, featured a buffet dinner.

Poems were read about the group’s theme, “The Apron.”

Karla Thompson, who collects aprons as a hobby, was guest speaker. Thompson has more than 300 aprons of all shapes and sizes and a story with each one. Those present told about their apron that they brought to the party.

Games were played and prizes awarded. The evening closed by singing a hymn and praying “The Lord’s Prayer.”
