An after-school book club for children in kindergarten and first grade will begin meeting in January at the Brownstown Public Library, 120 E. Spring St.

Cub Club will meet once a month from January through May. Meeting dates are Jan. 8, Feb. 5, March 12, April 2 and May 7. All meetings are from 3:35 to 4:30 p.m.

Kindergarten participants will be paired with first-graders who will read the book selection aloud to them.

During the discussion, each participant will explain what they like or dislike about the book.
