Donations push basket fund tally to $8,170

Donations to the fund grew to $8,170 on Thursday with 12 donations of $1,549 in recent days.

The fund, sponsored by American Legion Post 89 in partnership with The Tribune, Jay C Food Stores and JCB, will supply $50 Jay C gift cards to residents in need throughout the county.

The newest donations include: In memory of loved ones $100, from Marilyn and Ellen Olmstead; In memory of Don Prather, Bob Mellencamp and Don Johnson $200, from Kathleen Johnson and Steve Prather; In memory of our dear friends, Delbert Fields and Ron Sumner $50, from Stretch and Patty Wineinger; $500 from Fraternal Order of Eagles 655; $50 from Fraternal Order of Eagles 655 Past Madam Presidents Club; $100 from Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary 655; In memory of Dale Boggs, Elmer & Jessie Hounshel and Marvin and Gladys Doerr $50, from John and Joyce Doerr; In loving memory of my sister, Pam Lawson $25, from Donna and Ron Reichenbacker; In memory of Danny Sturgeon, Kennedy LeBlanc, Addison LeBlanc and Uncle D.R. $100, Anonymous; Merry Christmas $134, from Old Friends Bridge Club; Merry Christmas to everyone $200, from the American Legion Ladies Aux Unit 90; and Merry Christmas $40, from Randy Bobb.

Donations may be left at The Tribune’s front desk, any JCB branch or American Legion Post 89. Donors can contribute anonymously and can dedicate donations to others.
