SELLERSBURG

The Brownstown Central girls basketball team

attacked

the basket early and often to pick up a 51-36 Mid-Southern Conference win at Silver Creek on Thursday.

In the first quarter, the Braves were able to build a four-

point lead, outscoring the

Dragons 12-8.

The Braves played consistently on offense as they took

a 26-19 lead heading

into intermission.

After the break, the Braves held the Dragons to just

17 points in the second half (six points in the third quarter) as they marched to their fifth straight win.

At the line, the Braves made 20 free throws on 25 attempts.

Senior Riley Wischmeier led the battle for the boards with nine of the Braves’ 26 total rebounds. Brooke Ebbing netted a team-high 16 points while grabbing six rebounds.

The victory keeps the Braves perfect in the MSC, as they moved to 5-0 on the season. They are 8-2 overall.

Brownstown will return to action Dec. 29 at the Eastern Greene Tournament.
