A teenager accused of inappropriately touching a 12-year-old girl at a bus stop in the Seymour area earlier this week has been arrested.

Adan Aguirre, 18, of Seymour, faces a Level 4 felony charge of child molesting after his arrest Tuesday.

Aguirre also faces a charge of attempted possession of child pornography, a Level 6 felony, after he was accused of asking the girl to send photos of herself, Seymour Police Chief Bill Abbott said.

Police said the two were standing close to each other at a bus stop on the south side when Aguirre touched her inappropriately. He said the two are not dating but are acquaintances.

Aguirre also asked the girl to send photos of herself through text messages and Facebook, Abbott said.

The situation was reported Monday to a school counselor by the girl. Aguirre was booked into the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown, where he continues to be held without bond.
