Donations to the Christmas Basket Fund grew to $8,395 on Friday with three donations of $225 in recent days.

The fund, sponsored by American Legion Post 89 in partnership with The Tribune, Jay C Food Stores and JCB, will supply $50 Jay C gift cards to residents in need throughout the county.

The newest donations were: In memory of our parents, $100, from William and Mary Lasater; in memory of our founding members, $25, from Women’s Christian Missionary Society Reddington Christian Church; and in memory of Floyd Butler, $100, from Linda and Michael Jordan.

Donations may be left at The Tribune’s front desk, any JCB branch or American Legion Post 89. Donors can contribute anonymously and can dedicate donations to others.
