In honor of Veterans Day, the Foster Grandparent Program of South Central Indiana collected donations for the nation’s military men and women in Afghanistan.

Because of the amount of donations, the program’s staff was able to put together 27 boxes to send overseas. The program operates in Brown, Bartholomew, Decatur, Jackson and Jennings counties.

Reams Asset Management Co. of Columbus helped the program by paying the cost of shipping the boxes overseas so they could be sent in time for Christmas. That cost was $15.90 a box for a total of $429.30.
