Strong final quarter lifts Braves

The Brownstown Central boys basketball team led North Harrison by only four points, at 44-40, heading into the fourth quarter of Friday’s game.

However, the Braves made a big push in the final eight minutes to come away with a 67-51 win.

At the half, the Braves led 28-22.

The Braves were anchored by Jacoby Shade’s offense in the third quarter, as the junior netted 11 of the team’s 15 points.

In the fourth quarter, the Braves pulled away from North by converting 8 of 10 free throws. Shade also added two threes of his own in the final period as the Braves sealed their second straight win.

Cam Shoemaker led the Braves on the boards with six of the team’s 21 rebounds.

The Braves will play Mitchell on the road tonight.
