Ivy Tech plans sessions for express enrollment

Ivy Tech Community College Columbus will offer Express Enrollment Days from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Jan. 5, 6 and 7 in Poling Hall, the main Ivy Tech building at 4475 Central Ave., Columbus.

This event has been planned to assist individuals who have not taken classes previously at Ivy Tech. These could be first-time students or those transferring from another college or university, according to a news release.

The Express Enrollment Days provide an opportunity for an individual who would like to begin attending Ivy Tech for the spring semester of 2015 to complete all of their admissions steps in one day rather than through several visits.

During these sessions, interested individuals will be able to complete a free application for admission, benefit from an orientation to the college, have all of their financial aid questions answered and meet with an adviser to schedule classes for the spring semester. Spring semester classes begin Jan. 12.

Individuals should bring with them a copy of their high school transcript if they have graduated within the past four years or any college transcripts if they have previously attended other colleges. Potential students will be assessed for placement using either their high school or college transcripts or by taking a free placement assessment. Placement tests will not be given after 1 p.m.

Light refreshments will be provided. Individuals who register during this three-day event will have a chance to win some Ivy Tech gear.
