NORTH VERNON

James H. Smith, 75, of North Vernon, died at 3:47 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine Smith, North Vernon; two sons, Greg (Rhonda) Smith and Jerry (Viola) Smith, both of North Vernon; three daughters, Kim Yonts, Tina Stout and Debbie Smith, all of North Vernon; stepchildren, Roger Hicks, Joanna Bailey and Joyce (Jason) Hamlin, all of North Vernon; two brothers, John (Carol) Smith and Seburn (Mabel) Smith, both of Austin; a sister, Bertie Smith, Florida; nine grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 14 stepgreat-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. today at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Michael Biggs officiating. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.
