Albert Shelton “Dutch” Lanham, 86, of North Vernon, died at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, at Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville.

Survivors include two sons, Mark (Sonja) Lanham, Bedford and Grant (Tammy) Lanham, Jupiter, Florida; one daughter, Violet (Jack) Handlon, Canaan; one stepson, Roy Staples, North Vernon; two stepdaughters, Rosalie Harper, Columbus and Sara (Ty) Speer, Butlerville; two brothers, Kenny (Joyce) Lanham, Lexington, and Virgil (Charlotte) Lanham, Canaan; two sisters, Fern Melton, Canaan and Anna Faye (Richard) Little, Madison; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his his first wife, Elizabeth May “Betty” Mark; his second wife, Betty Jean Gabbard; and one stepson, John Staples.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dove – Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Richard Burcham officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral on Tuesday, during which time a Masonic service will be held. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery with military graveside rites.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Jefferson Presbyterian Church in Canaan.
