Cougars claim victory

NEW ALBANY

Trinity Lutheran picked up a 53-36 win at Christian Academy on Tuesday.

In the first quarter, the Cougars started with a 10-5 lead.

Things got defensive for the Cougars before the half, as they kept Christian Academy to just four points.

The Cougars then cruised to their second-straight win.

Freshman Maddie Roark led the Cougars with 22 points.

On the boards, Hailee Peters finished with 11 rebounds and Sydney Stuckwisch added seven to the Cougars’ 40 team rebounds.

The Cougars (5-8) play host to West Washington tomorrow.

Braves’ streak halted

MADISON

Brownstown Central’s nine-game winning streak ended with a 77-48 loss at Madison on Tuesday.

The Cubs put pressure on the Braves early through scoring 21 points in the first quarter.

Following a 39-22 lead at intermission, the Cubs exploded for 25 points in the third quarter while keeping the Braves to 16.

In the fourth, the Cubs (9-5) held onto their lead to earn their third straight win.

Senior Jaelyn Reynolds led the Braves with eight points, followed by freshman Madison Klinge who netted seven.

Brooke Ebbing also led the Braves with nine of the Braves’ 36 rebounds.

The Braves (12-3) will play at Charlestown on Saturday.
