MERRITT ISLAND, Fla.

John Harold Pfaffenberger, 93, of Merritt Island, Florida, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at Cedar Creek Life Center in Merritt Island.

Born Nov. 1, 1921, in Seymour, John was the firstborn son of John George Pfaffenberger and Mabel Farrier Pfaffenberger.

His life career was working for the Pennsylvania Railroad, the Penn-Central Railroad and the Norfolk & Western Railroad. John retired and lived many years in Naples, Florida, doing what he loved best, fishing. He also served his country honorably in World War II as a tail gunner in a B24.

He is survived by a daughter, Robbie Linda (Daniel) Sell; stepdaughter, Patricia (Henry) Murray; and sister, Melba Jean Clark. John was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Robbie; three brothers, Clifford, Joseph and Kenneth; and a stepson, Robert Quates.

Services are not complete at this time.
