Kenneth “Tom” Howell, 75, of Seymour, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

Born Jan. 14, 1939, in Bedford, he was the son of Kenneth L. and R. Charlene Wright Howell, both of whom preceded him in death. On Dec. 23, 1973, in Springfield, he married Mary Sue Garrett.

Tom was a graduate of Oolitic High School and Purdue University. After graduating from Purdue, he went to work for Ludwig Engineering in Seymour for many years, eventually retiring from Accu-Air Surveys at Freeman Field. He was very active and enjoyed golfing and bowling with his friends and family. He also loved to spend time outdoors hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Sue; children, Kenneth Eric Howell, Gale (Steve) Rosberg and Yonda Gay (Lynn) Darlage; his sister, Ann (John) Cummings; three grandchildren, Chad (Sadie) Darlage, Nick Darlage and Jacob (Caitlyn) Darlage; and three great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sue Pritchett and Rita Beavers.

A service honoring his life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Voss Chapel in Seymour. 

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from noon until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
