Lynn K. “Kenny” Wehmiller, 87, of Seymour, passed away at 6:35 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour.

Born June 6, 1927, in Seymour, he was the son of Walter H. and Hilda S. VonDielingen Wehmiller. On Nov. 27, 1954, he married Ida Marie Roettger at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Wegan.

Kenny was a 1946 graduate of Shields High School. He worked for Indiana Telephone and Contel for 37 years, retiring in 1983. He worked as a contractor with the phone company for an additional eight years.

Kenny was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army’s Signal Corps. He was a life member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where he served as an elder and on the cemetery board. He also was a member of Lutheran Laymen’s League, Independent Pioneer Telephone Association and a life member of American Legion Post 89. He enjoyed camping and the coffee club at the Jackson-Jennings Co-op Farm Store but especially loved spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by a son, Roger L. (Susan) Wehmiller of Seymour; a daughter, Rebecca Jo (Barry) Stuckwisch; four grandchildren, Julie (Jared) Stahl, Greg Wehmiller, Kelly Stuckwisch and Cory Stuckwisch; a brother, Donald Wehmiller; and a sister-in-law, Alberta Roettger.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ida Marie Wehmiller; sister, Norma Jean Spieker; sisters-in-law, Marguerite Wehmiller and Minnie Roettger; and brothers-in-law, John Spieker and Henry Roettger.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour with the Rev. Ralph Blomenberg, the Rev. James Rodriguez and Vicar Daniel Merz officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel in Seymour and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Burial will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
