Donald R. McDonald, 92, of Seymour, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, at Schneck Medical Center.

Born Jan. 30, 1922, in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Charles and Helen Baynes McDonald. On March 22, 1941, he married Lavona Snodgrass in the Central Christian Church parsonage in Seymour. She preceded him in death.

He was a member of the U.S. Army and a proud World War II veteran. Upon returning home, he held a career as a farmer.

Survivors include two sons, B. Wayne (Judith D.) McDonald and Dennis L. (Helen) McDonald; a daughter, Emily (John) Canada; son-in-law, Darrell Hacker; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother; two sisters; and two daughters, Marilyn Hacker and Linda McDonald.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Voss Chapel, with the Rev. Kit Bogan and the Rev. Bill Everhart officiating.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, with full military graveside rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.

Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church.
