Helen Taylor Sutton, 87, died at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, at The Hospice House of Ruskin Florida.

She was born Nov. 19, 1927, in Tuscola, Illinois, and was the daughter of Alex and Lillie Ayers Taylor.

She lived most of her life in Jackson County in the Freetown area until moving to Florida in 1998. She worked for 18 years as an aid at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour and was a member of the Methodist Church at Freetown.

Survivors include two children Tom (Anne) Sprague of Freetown, and Patricia Meyer Klakamp of Ruskin, Florida; two brothers, Vernon (Sue) Taylor of Seymour, and Carl (Bonnie) Taylor of Brownstown; seven grandchildren, Debbie Ridlen, Carl (Rhoda) Sprague, Donnie (Lucy) Fugett, Jamie (Brian) York, Dawn (Justin) Drake, Mindy Pack and Ashley (Andrew) Newcomb; 19 great-grandchildren; and five stepchildren, Robert L. (Nahomi) Sutton, Sara Jane (Alvin) Helton, Leeann (Bo) Griffith, Rebecca Sutton and David Sutton; 14 stepgrandchildren; 28 stepgreat-grandchildren; and seven stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Teresa Cordes; husbands, Carl Sprague in 1954, Marvin Meyer in 1977, and Tony Sutton in 1995; and a stepdaughter, Toni Sutton.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral in Brownstown with Dave Ison officiating. Burial will be in Freetown Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Freetown United Methodist Church or to the Freetown Cemetery.
