Jerry Lee Smith, 78, of Columbus, passed away Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, at Louisville VA Medical Center.

Born April 14, 1936, in Winamac, he was the son of Ersher B. Smith and Anna Good Smith. He had married Anna Smith, who preceded him in death Dec. 6, 2012.

He worked most of his life as a self-employed drywall installer.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry L. (Amy) Smith Jr. and Ronald Smith; one brother, Dickie (Judy) Smith; one sister, Peggy Reavis; four grandchildren, Sarah (Josh) Wayt, Shawna Smith, Kegan Banister and Jacob Smith; and three great-grandchildren.

There will be no visitation or funeral service. Graveside burial of his ashes will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kurtz Cemetery.
