Myrtle C. Carroll, 93, of Seymour, passed away at 12:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at Jennings Healthcare Center in North Vernon.
Born Sept. 12, 1921, in Dryden, Virginia, she was the daughter of Tyler and Allie Bell, both of whom preceded her in death. On March 1, 1946, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, she married John Houston Carroll. He preceded her in death in 2002.
She is survived by her two sons, Jim Bell and Sandy (Deborah) Carroll, both of Seymour; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Carroll; three brothers, Henry, Anderson and Charles Bell; and two sisters, Verna Collins and Eva Collins.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel in Seymour with the Rev. Bill Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
