Theater group presenting annual dinner theater

Jackson County Community Theatre’s annual dinner theater will be presented Feb. 13 and 14 and Feb. 20 and 21 at The Pines Evergreen Room south of Seymour.

This year’s show is the romantic comedy musical, “The Drowsy Chaperone.” Winner of five Tony awards, the musical pays tribute to the jazz age shows of the 1920s.

A diehard musical theater fan begins the show by playing his favorite record on his turntable. The music literally comes to life in his living room. A glamorous and hilarious tale ensues, with a reluctant bride, a groom on skates, a tap-dancing best man, a womanizing gigolo, gangsters posing as pastry chefs and an intoxicated chaperone.

Serving begins at 6 p.m each night, and the show begins at 7:30 p.m.

Seating for the dinner theater nights is by reservation only, and they may be made by calling 812-358-5228 at any time. A JCCT representative will respond to calls to confirm reservations.

There also will be a non-dinner matinee at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 15. Reservations are not needed or taken for the matinee, which will be at the Evergreen Room. Tickets are available only at the door, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Pines is offering a special discount for matinee patrons who wish to eat at the restaurant before or after that show.

Information may be found on the JCCT website, jcct.org.
