Scholarships available for health care studies

Schneck Foundation Scholarship Committee recently announced that scholarship applications for allied health care fields are now available.

Candidates who are interested in pursuing a course of study in a technical/professional allied health career may apply.

Acceptance for enrollment at a school and program of study in a technical/professional field is required for the scholarship to be officially awarded.

It is the desire of the foundation to interest individuals in health care fields.

Since there are no other scholarships available specifically for this group, the foundation devotes its efforts to allied health areas, including, but not limited to, clinical support areas such as speech therapy, respiratory therapy, lab technology, pharmacy, physical therapy and radiological technology.

The scholarship program, started in 1992, has awarded more than $362,550 in scholarships.

An application may be obtained online at schneckfoundation.org, schneckmed.org or from the Schneck Foundation/Development Office in Suite 125 of the Jackson Medical Building, 225 S. Pine St., Seymour. Applications also will be available from counselors at local high schools.

Applications must be completed and returned to the foundation/development office no later than March 15 to be eligible for consideration.
