Muriel Virginia Carr, 91, of Seymour, passed away Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, at Lutheran Community Home, Seymour.

Muriel was born March 10, 1920, in Jennings County and was the daughter of Frank Louis and Ruth Ann Carr Nichter. Her parents preceded her in death.

On Aug. 24, 1940, at Washington, Muriel married Harold Huddleston, who preceded her in death April 19, 1981. On June 1, 1985, in Seymour, she married John Carr who preceded her in death June 16, 1997.

Muriel was a member of First United Methodist Church in Seymour and had retired from H.O. Canfield, Seymour, where she was a gasket maker.

Muriel is survived by two sisters, Gladys Weasner and Esther Wilkes; and several nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents and two husbands, Muriel also was preceded in death by her brothers, Lawrence Nichter, Willard Nichter and Charles Nichter; and her sisters, Huldah Butcher, Hazel Butcher and Ruby Toborg.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Voss Chapel, Seymour, with the Rev. Sandy Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. Family and friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. today and from one hour before the service at the funeral home on Tuesday.

Memorial donations may be written in Muriel’s memory to First United Methodist Church in Seymour.
