Brownstown grad honored for volleyball accomplishments

The 2014 University of Indianapolis volleyball team conducted a year-end awards banquet on campus Sunday, led by head coach Jason Reed.

The Mary L. Baumgartner MVP was awarded to junior outside hitter Hailey Brown, a Brownstown Central High School graduate who was named to the All-Great Lakes Valley Conference, Daktronics All-Midwest and American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Region first teams, as well as the AVCA All-America Third Team.

Brown led the squad with 382 kills and 3.67 kills per set, second-most in the GLVC, and recorded double-digit kills in 26 of 29 matches played. The Medora native finished fourth on the team with 301 digs and 2.89 digs/set and had 14 kill-dig double-doubles.
