Cornerstone Community Church plans to offer a Financial Peace University course this winter and into early spring.

The first session will be at 6 p.m. Feb. 8 at the church at 1088 Sarasota Drive, Seymour.

Following sessions will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sundays.

Financial Peace University is operated by syndicated columnist Dave Ramsey and is designed to teach families and individuals how to handle their money through common-sense principles and small-group accountability.

Lessons include budgeting, relationships and money, getting out of debt, saving for emergencies and investing.

After each lesson, the group meets in smaller groups to help and encourage each other, plan budgets and discuss successes and temptations.

The cost is $93 for a kit that includes a workbook, textbooks, forms and access to information on the Financial Peace University website.
