Susan Haskett has been elected president of the Jackson County Public Library’s board of finance.

Also at the board’s annual meeting Jan. 19 at the Seymour Library, Josh Bartley was elected secretary.

Haskett and Bartley serve in the same offices for the board of trustees, along with vice president Connie Adams, assistant secretary Dan Thomas and treasurer Mary Reed.

Haskett, of Seymour, was reappointed by the Jackson County Council for a second four-year term through December 2018.

Haskett appointed committees for the year — budget, Bob Mahan (chairman), Adams and Sally Crouch; facilities, Adams (chairwoman), Mahan and Cindy Rider; nominating, Bartley (chairman), Rider and Thomas; and personnel, Thomas (chairman), Bartley and Crouch.

Head of Youth Services Lola Snyder and youth services assistant Jill Willey gave a report on teen programs and the Teen Scene Room at the Seymour Library. Board members toured the Teen Scene Room after the meeting.

The board reviewed 2014 investments and canceled uncashed 2012 checks.

The library board of trustees’ next regular meeting is Feb, 17, immediately following a 5 p.m. executive session to discuss personnel. The meeting will be at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St.
