Braves down Eagles
BROWN COUNTY
The Brownstown Central boys basketball led just 26-24 at halftime, but buckled-down defensively in the second half to defeat Brown County 62-43 on Friday.
In the second half, the Braves outscored the Eagles 34-20 to seal the win.
Jacoby Shade led the Braves with 19 points and Cole Borden finished with the next highest at 10.
Shade finished with a double-double on the night with 11 of the Braves’ 34 total rebounds.
On Tuesday, the Braves (11-2) will travel to Austin for a Mid-Southern Conference matchup.
Tigers pounce on Rebels
ELIZABETH
The Crothersville boys basketball team took an early 16-13 lead in the first quarter and followed up with a 24-point second period as they went on to defeat South Central (Elizabeth) 61-56 on Friday.
Eli Mollet had a massive night on the boards for the Tigers grabbing 19 rebounds to go along with 10 points.
At the end of the night, the Tigers out-rebounded the Rebels 42 to 32.
Senior Jordan Schoenfelder led the Tigers with 16 points on eight made field goals.
The Tigers (5-13) will host county-rival Trinity Lutheran on Friday.
