AUSTIN

Charles “Chuck” Gabbard, 77, of Austin, died at 5:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, at Hampton Oaks Health Campus in Scottsburg.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Ann Howard of Austin; two sons, Donald Clifton Wesson of Jeffersonville and Charles Richard Gabbard of Austin; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a son, James Matthew “Matt” Wesson.

There will be a Celebration of Life gathering from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Austin Christian Church.

Pastor David Huey will conduct graveside services at 11 a.m. Thursday at Austin Cemetery with military funeral honors.

Adams Family Funeral Homes and Crematory have been entrusted with cremation services.

Memorial donations may be made to Austin Christian Church Preschool.
