Debora Sturgill, 58, of Medora, passed away Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, at her residence.

She was employed at Valeo Sylvania for 13 years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and also enjoyed reading, watching “The Walking Dead” and shopping.

Born Nov. 18, 1956, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Joseph and Ruth Perkinson Scavitto, both of whom preceded her in death. On Jan. 20, 1979, in Seymour, she married Donnie Sturgill, and he survives.

Other survivors include one son, Alexander J. Riley of Medora; three daughters, Charity (Jeremy) Stout of Brownstown, Holly (Joseph) Henline of Cloverdale, and Sarah Sturgill of Bloomington; two stepsons, Stevie Sturgill and Mikey Sturgill, both of Hamilton, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Paula Proffitt of Hamilton, Ohio; one brother, Mark Driskell of Avon; one sister, Donna Scavitto of Indianapolis; and 13 grandchildren, Anthony Martin, Chelsea Martin, Santana Stout, Colten Stout, Breanna Stout, Mahaley Riley, Myra Christie, Dustin Proffitt, Jeffery Proffitt, Timothy Sturgill, Steven Sturgill, Hailley Sturgill and Jaden Sturgill.

Besides her parents, she also was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Snowden and two brothers, Kenneth Boltinghouse and Michael Driskell.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Brownstown, with Pastor Matt Roberts officiating. Burial will be at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Scott County.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Schneck Medical Center Hospice.
