Ideas for promoting fellowship discussed

St. Peter’s Ladies Aid met Jan. 8 in the meeting room at the Brownstown church.

Kathy Cunningham called the meeting to order at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Jeff Patterson gave devotions and talked about the meaning of the hymn “Songs of Thankfulness and Praise,” which later the group sang, and closed with a prayer.

Ten members answered roll call.

Sick and shut-in visits were reported by Joyce Stuckwisch, and nursing home visits were reported by Rose Elmer and Cunningham. Bertie Roettger gave a report about altar flowers and Helen Kellermeier gave a report about spices. Cunningham gave a report about the Christmas Party, thanking those who helped.

Pastor asked for ideas for promoting fellowship after the first service on Sunday mornings and finding more people to serve coffee, etc. He also asked for thoughts and ideas for modernizing the bathrooms. The discussion was tabled until next meeting.

Mildred Hallow, a Ladies Aid member for many years, will be celebrating her 100th birthday on Feb. 22, and to honor her, the group decided to donate $100 to a charity of Hallow’s choice.

The meeting closed with The Lord’s Prayer.
