Nina Lucille Kinney, 89, of Odon, passed away Thursday morning, Jan. 29, 2015, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.

Nina was born May 8, 1925, in Scottsburg and was the daughter of Faun Baxter Thomas and Harold Ezra Thomas. In March 1946, she married Conrad Lowell Kinney.

Mrs. Kinney was a beloved housewife and mother to her children. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and tatting in her free time and her family holds dear the memory of the Christmas she tatted individual Christmas ornaments for each and every member of the family. She and her husband enjoyed studying American history.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Bloomfield.

Survivors include her sons, Conrad Patrick (Loretta) Kinney and Harold Daniel (Janice) Kinney; and a daughter, Cora Laymon; grandchildren, Katelin Kinney, Jennifer Kinney, Heather (Richard) Turner, David (Tiffany) Laymon and Christa (Steve) Tolliver; and great-grandchildren, Sophie and Nathan Turner, Jonathan Ainsworth, Lynn and Erik Laymon, and Mason, Hadley and Berkley Tolliver.

Mrs. Kinney was preceded in death by her parents and husband; her son-in-law Dave Laymon; and a great-grandson Carter Turner.

Memorials may be made to donor’s charity of choice through Voss and Sons Funeral Service, 316 N. Chestnut St., Seymour, IN. 47274.

A private family graveside service will be conducted at a later date at Austin Cemetery.
