A couple of area nursing students along with others at Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus attended the annual Indiana Association of Nursing Students conference Jan. 24 in Indianapolis.

The students, including Olivia Burton of Freetown and Keilah Jones of Scipio, attended the all-day conference with overnight accommodations from the assistance of a grant award from East Indiana Area Health Education Center, according to a news release from Beth Sharer, head of the university’s School of Nursing.

The students played an active role in the conference — attending every available session and participating in games where they won prizes such as exercise bands, Kaplan Review and a tablet, Sharer reported.

Carece Robbins of Greensburg was elected a state officer for 2015. In her role as editor, she will represent IUPUC at monthly meetings conducted throughout the state.
