St. Peter’s Ladies Aid meets

St. Peter’s Ladies Aid met at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 5 in the meeting room at the Brownstown church.

Pastor Jeff Patterson gave devotions and talked about the meaning of the hymn “’Tis Good Lord to be Here.” He also read from Matthew about the transfiguration of our Lord, closing with prayer and singing of the hymn.

Helen Kellermeier led roll call, and nine members were present. The secretary and treasurer’s reports were read and approved.

The organization was invited to the 100th birthday celebration of Mildred Hall on Feb. 22. Bertie Roettger purchased a birthday card for everyone to sign.

Sick and shut-in and nursing home visits were reported by hostess Kathy Cunningham. Janet Myers will be the March hostess and visit the sick and shut-ins and nursing homes.

Ileen Nehrt gave a report on the fellowship after the first service on Sunday mornings. Discussion centered on modernizing the bathrooms. It was decided the trustees should make the decision on what to do.

It was voted to serve cookies and drinks after two Lenten services. On Feb. 25, Dorothy Christopher, Roettger and Joyce Stuckwisch will serve, and on March 4, Margaret Lambring, Bonnie Duffy and Myers will serve. Everyone is to bring two dozen cookies on Feb. 25.

The meeting closed with The Lord’s Prayer.
