TAYLORSVILLE, Utah

Debra Ann Walker Boggess, 51, of Taylorsville, Utah, entered the arms of Jesus on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015.

She was born and raised in Indianapolis and enjoyed an active lifestyle, traveling around the world, eventually ending up in Salt Lake City, Utah, with her husband, Tim, and their son, David.

Debbie received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas in Austin and went on to obtain a master’s degree at Wheaton College in Illinois. Debbie’s strong faith in God led her to missionary work in Beirut, Lebanon, and Casablanca, Morocco, and motivated her to travel to many biblical sites in Israel, Jordan and Egypt.

Debbie married Timothy Boggess in 2007 and was blessed with her son, David Asher Boggess, in 2009. Debbie and Tim were active with their church, Calvary Chapel, teaching in children’s ministry and hosting small group Bible study at their home weekly.

Debbie was diagnosed with Stage IV ovarian cancer in January 2012 and fought a valiant battle with the help of caring medical personnel, family, friends and neighbors. Her outgoing personality, positive attitude and unfaltering faith in God touched all who knew and loved her and was an inspiration to all those who witnessed her courageous fight.

Besides her husband and son, she is survived by her mother, Sara Stroud Walker; father, Michael Shea (Catherine) Walker; a brother, Mark S. (Alice) Walker; sisters, Kathleen Walker and Michele Walker Jennings; loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephew.

A memorial service will be conducted Friday in Salt Lake City at Calvary Chapel.

In addition, a Celebration of Life will be held at Reddington Christian Church, 10516 N. U.S. 31, Seymour. Arrangements are still being planned.

Memorials may be made to Samaritan’s Purse International Relief (samaritanspurse.org).
