SEYMOUR

Elizabeth R. Owen, 90, of Seymour, passed away at 5:35 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2015, at Schneck Medical Center.

Born Oct. 18, 1924, in Richmond, Virginia, she was the daughter of William and Clara Dobbs Redick, both of whom preceded her in death. In 1961, she married Mark B. Owen of Indianapolis, and he preceded her in death.

She formerly owned and operated Midway Supply Corp. in Seymour until her retirement in 1978. She was formerly employed with Nichols Engineering & Research Corp. of Indianapolis. Elizabeth was a member of Prentice Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis.

Her summers were spent on Evergreen Beach on the shore of Lake Huron in Rogers City, Michigan. She was an avid nature lover. The woods, wildflowers and all wildlife were very special to her.

Survivors include a nephew, Roger Dobbs Harris of Rogers City, Michigan and a sister-in-law, Virginia F. Redick of Richmond, Virginia.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Annie Laurie Harris and a brother, William Dobbs Redick.

Private services will be conducted in Richmond, Virginia, with inurnment in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
