Dorothy L. Fox, 85, of Seymour, passed away at 7:34 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015, at her home.

Born Aug. 29, 1929, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Jess and Odias Bowman Lind, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Alvin Joseph Fox on Sept. 21, 1951, in Seymour, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 2, 1985.

Dorothy was a member of Central Christian Church and an avid card player who loved her family and adored her grandchildren.

Survivors include her three daughters, Rhonda (Richard) Guffey, Karen (Sonny) Nantz and Penny (Dale) Austin; seven grandchildren, Tina Guffey, Terri (David) Brewer, Robin (Tom) Vansodol, Stephanie Austin, Eric (Stephanie) Austin, Brandy (Shane) Deweese and Brad (Natalie) Nantz; eight great-grandchildren, Shandy Arthur, Bailey Baker, Hannah Campbell, Skylee Murphy, Annasun Austin, and Melanie, Cole and Alyssa Deweese; a great-great-grandchild, Rylan Fields; two sisters, Marj Maschino, and Joan Brumfield; and a brother, Richard (Lorraine) Lind.

Besides her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Lind; and sister, Martha Cartwright.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Rick Grant officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from noon until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
