City has ways to cover insurance costs

To the editor:

In regards to city employees’ health insurance, money could have been saved by not building the skate park and not building the giant welcome to Seymour monument.

Thousands of dollars a year could be saved by city police officers not taking their patrol cars home with them. I know one officer who lives in the country and drives about 40 miles a day to and from Seymour.

Another option would be to have city employees pay for their own health insurance. After all, factory workers have to pay their way.
