Josephine Carmer, 92, of Seymour, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Seymour Crossing.

Born Jan. 20, 1923, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Alvin Eugene and Ethel Marie Woodson Spencer, both of whom preceded her in death. She was the widow of Roy Carmer, who passed away in 1991.

Josephine worked in the kitchen at the Elks Lodge for more than 20 years and was an excellent cook. She loved her family.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia (Larry) Trueblood and Maria Morris; a son, Jerry (Judith) Carmer; seven grandchildren, Merrill Gudgel, Bonnie Marcum, Sidney Gudgel, Ron Gudgel, Julie Otte, Joanna Garrett and Jane Hays; 14 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Lynn Carmer; a son-in-law, Sammy Morris; a great-granddaughter; and a great-grandson.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Voss Chapel with Deacon Larry French officiating. Burial will follow at Reddington Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Riley Hospital for Children.
