Garden club names new officers

All Seasons Garden Club met March 9 at the home of Shirley Lewis with Brenda Turner serving as co-hostess.

A salad and dessert buffet was served to 14 members and guest, Jean Barkman.

Kevin Wheatly with Myers Sod Farm presented a program about the sod farm and their traditional crops.

Julie Ballard conducted a business meeting with minutes, roll call taken and a treasurer’s report.

New officers for the 2015 year will be Becky Hackman, president; Judy Bobb, vice president; Nita Bridges, secretary; and Martha Wilson, treasurer.

Information regarding a garden show in Cincinnati was shared with members along with information about the Madison Garden Tour the first two weekends in May.

Wilson reminded members if they had any perennials to share with the newest habitat house in Seymour, to contact her and arrangements would be made for planting at the appropriate time.

Barkman accepted an invitation to become a member.

Connie Lovins, Peggy Broshears, Barkman and Jeannette Chastain won a scavenger hunt.

The next meeting will be April 6 at Julie Nay’s with Ballard as co-hostess.
