Betty Louise England, 80, of Brownstown, and formerly of Medora, passed away at 5:15 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2015, at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown.

Born Sept. 28, 1934, in Medora, she was the daughter of Hubert H. Gibson and Verla Ollis Johnson, both of whom preceded her in death. Betty married Glen England, who passed away in 1990.

Betty attended grade school at Clearspring and Brownstown High School. She had been employed at Canfield in Seymour, Cummins in Columbus and Sylvania in Seymour, and she was involved in home health care in Jackson County.

Survivors include two daughters, Stevy (Roger) Baker and Beth (Joe) Johnson, both of Medora; five grandchildren, Dawn (Chris) Campbell, Nelson (Mary) Baker, Cody McVay-Ray, James (Jenifer Brandt) Baker and Cortney (Chris) Bowers; a stepgrandchild, Amanda (Charles) Newby; 10 great-grandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; a stepgreat-great-grandchild; a brother, Rex Gibson of Brownstown; and two sisters, Wilma Lee of Columbus and Becky (Gary) Fisher of Medora.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a stepgrandson, Chris Johnson.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hague Funeral Home in Medora with Pastor Chris Campbell officiating. Burial will be at Proctor Cemetery in Lawrence County.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
