VANCLEAVE, Miss.

Danny Turner, 68, of Vancleave, Mississippi, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015, in Vancleave.

Born May 8, 1946, he was the son of Ray L. and Iris Marie Tolen Turner, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Carolyn Baucum, who survives in Vancleave.

Danny graduated from Seymour High School in 1964 and attended Indiana University. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, gardening and collecting old farm tractors. He was retired from the Sun Herald of Gulfport, Mississippi, and previously was the owner of a small trucking company.

Other survivors include a sister, Lorra B. Turner of Seymour; a sister-in-law, Frederica Turner of Mount Gilead, Ohio; three daughters, Dani L. Land of Seymour, Leniece Holman of Nashville, Tennessee, and Sonya Ferguson-Hill of Laurel, Mississippi; and nieces and nephews, Ed Wayt, Loretta Tillett, Joe Wayt, Roger Wayt, Larry Ray Turner, Debra Smith and Lavella Wayt.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Larry, Lanny and Michael Turner; sisters, Linda Wayt and Sue Ann Turner; and nephews, Jerry Turner and Joshua Smith.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Voss Chapel in Seymour. Burial will follow at Ackeret’s Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
