Donnie Lewis, 62, of Paris Crossing, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour with his family by his side.

Born April 28, 1952, in Oneida, Kentucky, he was the son of Novella Hacker Lewis and T.J. Lewis, both of whom preceded him in death. On Aug. 16, 1969, in Seymour, he married Patricia Abel, who survives.

Donnie graduated from Jennings County High School in 1970. He was retired from Cummins Engine Co., where he was a mechanical engineering associate.

In his free time, you could find Donnie enjoying the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and farmer. On Sundays, he loved to watch NASCAR. He was a member of Marion Baptist Church and Fraternal Order of Eagles 655 in Seymour and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren most of all.

Besides his wife, other survivors include his children, Jennifer (Billy) Holmes and Jeff (Nicole) Lewis; five grandchildren, Jessica, Heather, Kylie, Maddie Grace and Jacob; four great-grandchildren, Chloe, Hunter, Bryson and Ashton; and two brothers, David (Susie) Lewis and Doug (Lisa) Lewis.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Donna, and a daughter, Tammy.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Voss Chapel in Seymour with the Rev. Jeff Hood officiating. Burial will follow at Marion Baptist Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 1 p.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
