Lane closures begins on the interstate 65 in Scott County

Lane closures on Interstate 65 have begun moving north from the Austin area as crews install guardrail and grade stone shoulders and repair concrete joints and transitions.

John R. Jurgensen Company crews will reduce I-65 to one lane in each direction next week, weather permitting, between State Road 256 in Austin (the 33½-mile marker) and State Road 250 in Uniontown (the 38½-mile marker).

Work will continue to progress north in the next several weeks until contractors reach U.S. 50 in Seymour (the 50-mile marker).

Updated information and a map are available on INDOT’s TrafficWise service at indot.carsprogram.org/#roadReports/eventAlbum/incars-42251.

National Work Zone Awareness Week begins Monday and will continue through Friday. INDOT urges drivers to slow down, stay alert and obey traffic safety measures in work zones.
